Chicken in a crock pot?

I found a great recipe for chicken and vegetables, but is said to bake in the oven. I have no enough pot great, so I was thinking of cooking in my crockpot. Calls for a 5 pound whole chicken - how long you cook it and adjust it. My crockpot has high low and warm settings. Thanks.

I know this is a different recipe than you, but I copied so you can watch the cooking time of 4 pounds, sliced chicken cooked in a lower position. You can increase your temperature and speed up the cooking time, but a cut up chicken is cooked faster a whole chicken, so you might want to note that too. If in doubt, always use a meat thermometer and make sure you read more than 165, and that so will be sure it is cooked properly! Good luck and have fun - Ingredients 1 chicken cut 4 pounds 3 tablespoons olive oil 2 onions - sliced 1 teaspoon salt 1 / 2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 1 stalk celery - chopped 2 cups potatoes - diced 1 cup tomatoes - chopped 1 teaspoon oregano 3 tablespoons chopped parsley 1 cup frozen peas - thawed Preparation Brown the chicken pieces in oil. Add salt, pepper and onion and cook for another 5 minutes. Put the celery and potatoes in the bottom of the pan and top with the browned chicken, onions, tomatoes, 1 / 2 cup water, oregano and parsley. Cover and simmer for 6 to 8 hours. Add peas, cover and cook on high 15 minutes.
