best recipe to make barbeque ribs in crockpot?

found a few recipes online but they don't say how much water to add or if to add water at all. Could you please include this info with the recipe. I'm an ameteur.
also is it better to let bbq sauce cook w/ ribs or add bbq sauce after the ribs finish cooking?

I don't add water to my ribs.

I cut them up into ribs, cover them with seasoning and dump a bottle of BBQ sauce (we use bullseye) then cook them. Usually 4-5 hours.. or just till the meat is falling off the bone.

Another way (which my hubby prefers) is to cook the slabs of ribs with a dry rub like salt/pepper/garlic (we have our own family seasoning that we have bottled but its just a mix of all kinds of stuff like a seasoning salt type thing) whatever you want on it and then cook in a 350 oven for 1 hour. After that you let them cool enough to cut them into the individual ribs and then do as above. Usually this way only takes 2-3 hours before the meat is melting off the bone.
