How to make corn flakes chocolate cakes?

When I try to do with butter, honey and chocolate, chocolate syrup and groups together butter separates. I conclude with a sticky mud corn flakes instead of covering slurry with. It is very frustrating!

INGREDIENTS 3 1 / 2 tablespoons butter 4 tbsp golden syrup 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped 2 3 / 4 cups cornflakes cereal DIRECTIONS In a saucepan over low heat, combine butter, golden syrup and chocolate. Cook and stir until butter and chocolate melt and mixture is well blended. Mix corn flake cereal. Drop by heaping tablespoons in waxed paper or baking sheet with butter. Place in refrigerator until set, about 15 minutes.
