'1 Type I diabetic patients and type 2, who live a lifestyle free of gluten are seeing a significant difference in their diabetes and how the approach global diabetes care.

A protein fraction of gluten (Triticum aestivum) found in wheat is related to the damage of the islets in diabetics. Gluten is an ingredient found in grains, flour and other, feeding their elasticity and texture. Gluten is found in most grains making it very difficult for people with gluten intolerance (GI) and their families.

People with type 1 diabetes appear to be most affected by gluten however wheat diabetics with type 2 diabetes showed significant changes in their levels of blood sugar when you also switch to a diet completely free of gluten.
