Recipe for manufacturing non-fried potato chips?
Tomorrow I'm going to make a pie for dinner and I really want some chips (potatoes chips) with it. However, our fryer is no longer working for that option is out of the window. Is it possible to create chips for only normal surface of frying? If so, does anyone have a recipe or any useful tips or something please? Thank you.
I use the oven method. As an idea, in general, egg white can be used for potatoes, so the seasonings would keep her and makes them crispy. I used the margarine into the pan to baking instead of Pam spray or oil. Or if you have a nonstick pan then do not use anything. I like the best cajun fries. Crunchy Seasoned Oven Fries --------- 3 / 4 cup cornflakes crumbs Italian Fries Seasoning 6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese 1 1 / 2 teaspoons Italian herb seasoning Chili Fries Seasoning 1 1 / 2 tablespoon chili powder 1 1 / 2 teaspoons garlic salt 1 1 / 3 pounds (4 medium) potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch thick wedges 1 egg Heat oven to 375 degrees. Coat two baking sheets with vegetable oil. Beat eggs slightly in a shallow pan. In another shallow bowl, mix crumbs and seasoning of your choice. Bathe potato pieces in the eggs, coating completely with crumb mixture. Arrange in single layer on a baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes, then turn potatoes over and continue cooking 10 to 15 minutes more, until potatoes are browned and crispy on the inside and are tender when tested with a toothpick or fork. Serve immediately, plain or with lemon or tomato sauce. Cajun Oven ----- medium potatoes Fries 4 1 / 4 teaspoon oregano 1 / 4 teaspoon thyme 1 teaspoon paprika 1 / 8 teaspoon cayenne (to taste) 1 / 8 teaspoon black pepper 1 / 4 teaspoon sugar 1 / 4 teaspoon cumin 1 / 2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 / 2 teaspoon onion powder 1 / 4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce (or crushed chili) 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for 1 teaspoon chicken broth instead of oil) Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a small bowl, combine oregano, thyme, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, sugar, cumin, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Tabasco sauce, and oil and mix well to form a paste. Line a large tray for baking dish with foil, pour a small amount of oil on paper and spread with a paper towel. Peel the potatoes and slice into french fry shapes. Place chips in a plastic bag with paste and work paste fries, too, can do this in a container, but the bag method is easier. Place in oven fries cover sheets, trying not to let it touch the edges. Bake in preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes (time may vary with the size of the fry cut), turn once during cooking to brown the underside.
