"American Masala Suvir Saran" and the return of Devi
"There There are no second acts in American life, "says the much refuted the comment by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and was denied again. This time by a chef born in India, in New York.
Suvir Saran took off a couple of incredible feats in the Manhattan court, on the throat world of high-end restaurants. First, he and fellow chef Hemant Mathur, Devi created in 2004, a restaurant that would become the only Indian restaurant to win a star in the Michelin Guide New York 2007. Then on October 22, Saran and Mathur came as owners of Devi, the reopening of the restaurant and most samelocation original staff. Many of his signature dishes of return, including, but so did a series of "new classics" such as Masala Spicy Fried Chicken and Mushroom toast. The new classics "are Saran's new book," American Masala: 125 New Classics from My Home Kitchen "(written with Rachel Pelzel).

"I have cooked Suvir Times Recipes probably fifty, never without delightful, fresh, encouraging results. When food is traditional and contemporary, I trust him implicitly. American Masala is a gem.
